Disowned

Imagine walking into the home you grew up in, the only home you've ever known, and feeling as if you are no longer wanted. Your family treats and speaks to you differently, and you are no longer invited to be involved in the activities that you used to enjoy with the family.

The experience of being disowned by your church is one that, unfortunately, many people go through. Sometimes it may not be overt, but it usually is clear enough that many leave the church and never return.

Join us as we listen to Nigel and Daniel as they share their experience with the church after coming out.

He hopes to encourage others who are on their own journey of discovering their identity in Christ.

Born and raised in the church, Jo never expected to find himself being pushed out by it. While Jo’s journey of self acceptance and a search for belonging has been challenging, it led him to find a loving God who was far greater than the sum of his painful experiences and hurt and a return to the church of his childhood. He hopes that all will be able to experience, as he has, a love that not only transforms them but also changes the way they see others.
