Revisiting Sodom

In this week's episode, Daniel and Jo come face to face with the clobber passages found in the Bible.

How do they reconcile their sexuality with what has traditionally been interpreted as very clear references to same sex activity?

Over the years, Daniel and Jo have revisited these passages over and over again and now they share what the Holy Spirit has led them to in this episode

The 6 passages are summarised below:

1. Genesis 19:1-38 - Sodom & Gomorrah

2. Leviticus 18:22; 20:13 - Levitical Laws

3. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - Pederasty in Corinth

4. 1 Timothy 1:9-10 - Pederasty in Ephesus

5. Jude 6-7 -Strange Flesh

6. Romans 1:25-27 - Cult Prostitution

Born and raised in the church, Jo never expected to find himself being pushed out by it. While Jo’s journey of self acceptance and a search for belonging has been challenging, it led him to find a loving God who was far greater than the sum of his painful experiences and hurt and a return to the church of his childhood. He hopes that all will be able to experience, as he has, a love that not only transforms them but also changes the way they see others.
